The Culture Canal in the middle of the Ruhr metropolitan area is one of the most important transport routes in the whole of Europe. Today visitors can also experience it as a unique waterway full of international works of art and at the same time enjoy a huge variety of opportunities for leisure and recreation. The Culture Canal runs for around 70 kilometres from the Inner Harbour in Duisburg through Europe’s largest regional park, the Emscher Landscape Park, all the way to the lake at Datteln Harbour.
